Polynesian Cultural Center

The Polynesian Cultural Center is one of Oahu's biggest attractions, and it's no wonder why.  You can learn a lot about Polynesian history and culture by visiting here, but in a fun way!  There are so many things to do here.  I'd suggest watching as many of the shows for the different islands as you can, and filling in the rest of the time with all of the extra activities they have.  From leaf weaving to cooking, canoeing to dancing, you will never be bored.  After the park closes for the day, they have an optional dinner and night show.  The dinner is nothing special, so don't get too excited about that.  The night show is fun, but the plot doesn't really make sense.  So go if you'd like to see fire dancers and people doing the hula, but don't expect an amazing story to go along with it.  The PCC is definitely a do-not-miss activity!

One Last Hurrah

I had booked a wedding in Hawaii right before I found out we were moving, so I got to go back to Hawaii for one last hurrah this past week.  It was nice getting to play tourist and having no responsibilities other than the wedding.  Colette was nice enough to let me stay with her.  It was just like old times.  I had lots of fun and relaxation.  We mostly did stuff that I hadn't done before, and never went near the area I used to live and work, so it really felt like a new experience.

The wedding went great.  The couple was very sweet, you could tell they have good hearts.  I always love a chance for wedding pictures on the beach!
Colette and I spent time at the beach, rode bikes, snorkeled, went hiking, and did whatever else we wanted to.  I also got to meet her boyfriend, which turns out I did meet him briefly when I still lived there before they started dating.  They are great for each other I think. :)  It was also great to see our friend Shyla again.  She is an amazing girl and is fun to spend time with.

Colette gave me a lei :)

Not the best picture of either of us, but whatever

I now want a bike

Quick stop at the pet store :)

I really wanted to buy this puffer

An abandoned chick we found in Colette's neighborhood.  He was sick and didn't make it :(

An amazing hike to a waterfall.  Can't believe I didn't know about this one before.

I wasn't really sad to leave Hawaii at the end, but I was sad to leave Colette.  She better move back soon or she's in big trouble!  Blake was so happy to have me back that he bought me flowers, which for him is a really big deal. :)
