How to Wear Graphic Tees Without Feeling Like a Slob

I have a collection of graphic tee shirts that I almost never wear.  I always feel like they look too frumpy and not very cute when I just wear them with jeans.  I decided to look on Pinterest for some inspiration and then see what outfits I could come up with from my closet.

1. Blazer-Blazers can make anything look nice and put together, and tee shirts are no exception.  My black quarter-sleeve blazer works well with lots of outfits without being too hot and stuffy.  I love the blazer with jeans look.

2. Maxi skirts-This is the easiest one for me to put together an outfit with.  Probably because maxi skirts are so comfortable that they just seem to go with tee shirts.

3. Knee-length skirts-These skirts can seem more dressy than maxi skirts, but pairing them with a tee turns it into a casual look that can be worn any day of the week.

4. Vest-Throwing a vest over a tee can make a big difference.  It definitely makes it look like you put more effort into your appearance, and it can change the feel of the shirt as well.

So, now you've seen every graphic tee shirt in my closet!  I love finding new ways to wear what I already have, and this project has helped me do that.  What tricks do you have for wearing a graphic tee without feeling frumpy?

Maunawili Falls Hike

This was one of my favorite hikes on the island.  It is about 3 miles round-trip through beautiful jungle, with an amazing waterfall and pool that you can jump into at the end.  This trail can get really muddy at times.  I actually thought it was fun when it was muddy.  You should bring towels with you to leave in the car for the ride home so you don't make a mess of the car.  There is not anywhere to wash off at the end.  If you can only do one hike, consider this one.  It is fun and rewarding, plus if you wear your swimming suit you can jump in the pool.

What I Wore: May 30

My husband is the most supportive, encouraging person.  When he saw me watching lots of makeup tutorials, he said, "You should make some of those.  It would be good for you." Meaning, good for my almost non-existent self confidence and to make me get over some of my fears.  Well, I'm not ready for that.  But, I do feel like it would be a good step for me to start some fashion blogging.  Fashion has always been a big interest of mine.  In fact, one of the careers I looked into was fashion design (as well as wedding/prom dress store owner/designer, fish store owner, artist, marine biologist, detective, paleontologist, pharmacist, makeup artist, and so on...)  So, today I am starting with my first ever fashion blog post.  I feel like there are a lack of fashion blogs with clothing that is modest and affordable.  My friends know that I am a cheapskate.  I don't think you have to spend a ton of money to look good.  Modesty in dress is important to me.  I believe that dressing modestly is treating the body that God gave you with respect.  I realize that not everyone's opinion on what is or isn't modest will not be the same, but this is my interpretation.  So, without further ado, this is what I wore today!

Dress: Old Navy
Leggings: Papaya
Belt: from a sweater I got at Kohl's
Necklace: gift
Shoes: Forever 21
Bow ring: gift

I had to have this dress when I spotted it at Old Navy.  I am love with the low-but-not-too-low cut back.  I saw someone wearing the same dress at a wedding reception and it was knee length on them.  I was a little bit jealous.  The necklace is my favorite, my mom sure knows how to pick out pretty things for me.  I am wearing my favorite nail polish, Too Yacht to Handle by China Glaze.  It's the perfect almost-neon turquoise blue.  I have to give a big thanks to Blake for letting me drag him outside to take these pictures so I didn't have to do it with a tripod.

Ko Olina Lagoons

The Ko Olina Lagoons are beautiful and good for snorkeling year round, thanks to the lagoons being protected from the open ocean.  There are four man-made lagoons that you can choose from.  My favorite is lagoon #2, Honu Lagoon.  The least busy one is probably #4 though, because it is past the hotels.  The lagoons are picture-perfect, with manicured lawns and beautiful palm trees surrounding the beach.  I see turtles here very often.  The water is the perfect depth, not shallow enough that you'll hit your knees and you can actually dive, but not too deep that you can't reach and see the bottom easily.  The Ko Olina Marriott Beach Club is my favorite hotel on the island, so if you get a chance to stay there, you definitely should!

Paradise Cove

Paradise Cove is the natural cove near the Ko Olina Lagoons.  If you drive towards the lagoons and park in the parking lot that says Public Beach Access before you hit the hotels you will be in the right place.  There are a ridiculous number of turtles here.  We found one that we named Stumpy because he was missing his front left flipper.  Poor guy.  This is a fun place to go if you want to somewhat avoid the hotel crowds at the Lagoons.

Our Memorial Day Week-long Trip to Colorado

About a week after we got back from Florida, we were on our way to another trip, this time to Blake's mom's cabin in Colorado for an extra long Memorial Day weekend.
The whole gang

Mason, his dad, his grandpa, and his great grandpa

All the redheads! (We think Mason's hair is red)

Our photo got a fancy edit, sorry everyone else

My adorable nephew and his adorable mom!

When I was going through our boxes that we had in storage while we lived in Hawaii, I found a super awesome/creepy gas mask that Blake had brought home from Ukraine.  I thought that going to the cabin out in the woods would be a perfect time to get some creepy pictures with it.

There is an amazing, huge waterfall on the property, just a few minutes walk from the cabin.  It amazes me every time I see it.  While we were there, Blake had me shoot his gun.  I'd never shot a gun before, and was very scared, as you can see in the video haha.

Mason wanted to take Blake's mask off

There's no better place to do yoga than in the mountains

Mason was happy because he just whacked Blake in the face
I'm now looking forward to spending some time at home.  Haha.  We are a little vacationed out.
