What I Wore: June part 3-Striped maxi dress, leggings, and more

I decided this time to include approximate prices I paid for everything (except rings, because then everything would cost as much as my wedding ring, haha) so you can see how much I usually pay for my outfits.  I always have to laugh when I see people on tv showing you how to get a great outfit for 'only $200.'  Cheapskates for the win!

I wore this top along with black dress pants for the wedding I photographed that morning, then changed into denim shorts after because it's hot outside!

Black and cream lace top: Maurice's-$18
Black undershirt: Kim's Fashions-$7
Shorts: LA Idol pants from Plato's Closet that I cut off into shorts-$15
Necklace: Kohl's-$15
Ring: ebay
Nail polish: Abigail by Julep. I LOVE the 'silk' finish!
Outfit total: $55

I love the sequin roses on this dress.  I sometimes have a hard time figuring out what to pair it with, but I think the magenta sweater looks cute.

Sequin rose dress: Old Navy-$15
Magenta short sleeve sweater: Old Navy-$5
Brown leggings: Charlotte Russe-$5
Rosette sandals: Forever Young Shoes-$10
Rose necklace: Forever 21-$4
Outfit total: $39

I wanted to wear something casual and cool this day since I knew we were going hiking later.

Cobalt blue ruffle shirt: Kohl's-gift
Denim shorts: Aeropostale-$15
Coral flower necklace: Forever 21-$8
Flip flops: Old Navy-$2
Outfit total: $25+whatever the shirt cost

I love this maxi dress!  It was actually long enough off the rack by some miracle, and it even has sleeves and a great neckline.  It's an all-around win.

Green striped maxi dress: Downeast-$25
Gold flats: Forever Young Shoes-$18
Gold skinny belt: Urban Outfitters-$5
Pink necklace: Downeast-$15
Outfit total: $63

I always laugh when I remember that this dress said 'knee-length dress' on the tag.  It's like... a foot above my knees.

Magenta dress: Forever 21-$13
White half-tank: Hapari-$5
Gray leggings: Papaya-$5
Cognac braided belt: Wet Seal-$3
Cognac sandals: Old Navy-$10
Outfit total: $36

So my average outfit was about $44.  Not too shabby, I don't think.  Stay tuned for a post coming soon about how I find the best deals on clothes.

Where to Find Affordable, Modest, and Cute Swimsuits

Some modest swimsuits that are for sale at the time of writing this article, starting top left and going around clockwise:
Kohls, Target, Target, Old Navy, Victoria's Secret on ebay, Downeast, ebay, Target, Target, Forever 21 on ebay, Kohl's, Downeast

I am so grateful that modest swimsuits are easier to find right now than when I was younger.  However, they can still cost a pretty penny.  These are the places where I have found modest swimwear that I love for a great price.

Old Navy is where I have bought the most swimwear from.  They have a wide variety of cute swimsuits, and have great sales all the time.  They also offer tall sizes that can give you extra coverage.  My #1 rule for shopping at Old Navy is NEVER pay full price for anything.  If you are patient, it is easy to find tankini tops for $10 and bottoms for $5.  Even one pieces can often be found for $15.  Make sure you look in store and not just online.  They sometimes have different inventory and different sales in store.  I have another post planned where I will go more in-depth about shopping sales at Old Navy.

Kohl's is another store where you should never pay full price for anything.  While they usually have less swimsuits that appeal to me than Old Navy does, they do have a good variety and I can usually find at least one I like.

Ebay is always a good place to shop.  There are handy filters that let you look for exactly what you want, as well as browse through just tankinis, one-pieces, etc.  You have to keep your eye open for the good deals and not let yourself get suckered into paying too much for a swimsuit.  In addition to the brands carried in the stores I mention in this article, another brand I've found on ebay that I really love is Hula Honey.

I am a big Target fan.  They carry some super-cute swimsuit designs and always have tankinis and one pieces that I love.  Make sure you wait for sales.

Downeast exclusively carries modest swimwear which is always adorable.  The swimsuits are on the pricier side when full price, but they occasionally have 50% off sales or other good deals that you should keep an eye out for.   If you can find an outlet sale, you can find tops for as low as $7 and bottoms as low as $5.

While Forever 21 does not carry many modest swimsuits (and often they are only seen in stores,) when they do they can be really fun and affordable too.  You can also get swim bottoms here for as little as $4.80.

What about you?  Where have you found modest swimwear for an insane deal?  Let me know in the comments.

What I Wore: June Part 2, Lace Dress, Pencil Skirt, Leopard Print, Maxi Dress, and more

I have a lace obsession.  It's a problem.  A problem that I have no intention of fixing.  When I found this lace dress, it was love at first sight.

Ivory lace dress: Downeast
Slip extender: Kim's Fashions
Gold necklace: Forever 21
Gold flats: Forever Young Shoes

I love wearing dresses and skirts because they are so comfortable, yet you feel cute in them.  I paired a pencil skirt with a blingy tee for a weekday look.

Jeweled tee: Downeast
Striped pencil skirt: Old Navy
Braided belt: Wet Seal
Sandals: Old Navy

This outfit is one I wore to a photoshoot.  Since it was a family shoot I decided to wear something dressy but comfortable.  I usually dress up a little bit more for weddings.

Blue leopard print blouse: Forever 21
Black undershirt: Downeast
Waist belt: I have like 3-4 identical belts like this that came with shirts I bought
Black shorts: New York & Company
Black glitter shoes: Forever Young Shoes
Blue topaz white gold necklace: gift from my dad :)
Pearl ring: bought in Hawaii
Nail polish: Julep Avery and Julep Max

I love this dress because it has two of my favorite things, floral print and ruffles.  Sorry about the bad pictures.  Note to self: even if you're in a hurry, take the pictures outside.

Floral ruffle maxi dress: Old Navy
Blue undershirt: Downeast
White ruffle sandals: Wet Seal
Pink necklace: Downeast

I feel like these kind of looser fitting shirts look better on girls with curves, but I liked this one so much I couldn't resist.  I have a thing for rainbow sparkles.

 Sparkle dolman top: H&M
Jeans: Downeast
Necklace: Forever 21
Shoes: Forever 21

As an extremely tall person, I've never really worn heels my whole life but I've always admired them.  I decided to try some out and see if I can handle being head and shoulders over everyone else.  They sure make me feel fancy.  Obviously this excuse for a dress would cover NOTHING if I wore it alone, but with leggings it works as a really long shirt.

Teal striped dress: Forever 21
Navy leggings: H&M
Brown sparkle belt: Old Navy
Coral necklace: Charming Charlie
Teal pumps: Payless
