Jensen & Everett are 6 Months! The Half-Year Update

Jensen and Everett have officially been a part of our family for half a year!  It's crazy how the time has gone by so fast yet somehow so slow at the same time.

Their adjusted age is around 3 2/3 months.  They are just over 12 pounds now, so they've quadrupled their birth weights!

Jensen:
  • Has started reaching for things.  It's so fun to watch him concentrate on things and try to get his hands to grab them.
  • Loves to stand (with me balancing him of course.)
  • Giggles and laughs when daddy tickles him.
  • Is a decorated warrior at nap-fighting.
  • Figured out how to suck his thumb.
  • Refuses to stay on his belly for more than a few seconds before he flips over.
  • Will 'walk' if you move him around when his feet are touching the ground.
  • Sometimes raises an eyebrow when he looks at us.
Everett:
  • Sticks his tongue out all. the. time.
  • Has a sweet 'shy smile' where he smiles at you then looks away bashfully.  It's adorable.
  • Is working on his reaching/grabbing skills too.  He hasn't got it down yet like Jensen but he's getting there.
  • Likes to 'jump' while being held.
  • Rolled over!  He only did it once, and I haven't been able to get him to replicate it yet, but it happened.
  • Likes listening to "Yellow Submarine."  Sometimes it's the only thing that can get him to stop crying.
Both of them:
  • Have a preference for mommy and daddy.
  • Hold their heads up like champs.
  • Love interacting with people and getting attention.
  • Are still eating every 2 hrs except for the first stretch of the night which is usually around 4-5 hours.  I spend like 1/4-1/3 of my waking hours just nursing.  It's fine.
  • Rub their hands together like they're evil geniuses plotting something.
  • Are the most adorable things I have ever seen.
This past month we were finally able to have their baby blessing.  For those of you not familiar with an LDS baby blessing, it's somewhat similar to a Christening in that the babies are given their names in the records of our Church.  Side note: getting outfits for them was the most stressful thing ever and I was so lucky we had anything for them at all.  First, I ordered some and they came and were ginormous.  Then, I sent those back and ordered other ones with 3 day shipping so it could be there on time.  I ordered them Monday.  UPS forgot our package at their facility three times at two different centers and so it didn't come until Saturday night!  I was about ready to murder someone if it didn't come in time.  But it did, and we didn't have to bless them in plain white onesies.  Hurray.

We took the babies swimming!  It was so much fun.  Everett thought it was kinda cool to chill in the water.  Jensen didn't really like it though.  But they sure looked cute in their swimsuits!

I love it when Everett makes that face

We should probably do something to celebrate their half-birthday tonight, but instead we're having some friends over.  J & E will enjoy getting attention though. :)
