Makapuu Tidepools

To get to the Makapuu Tidepools, you start up the Makapuu Lighthouse Trail.  When you reach a sign about whale-watching, follow the little side path that goes right behind that sign.  You will zigzag down the rocky hill to the ocean from there.  Someone has painted arrows every once in a while along the path to make it easier to follow.  It is pretty steep and makes for a good workout.  At the bottom, there is a blowhole that you can walk right up to as well as some large tidepools.  I didn't see much in there besides fish, but that seems to be how all tidepools are here in Hawaii.  If you want to see something unique and get a workout, this hike might be for you.
